Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about DBCode

What makes DBCode different from other database tools?

DBCode is fully integrated with VS Code, giving you a seamless experience with your development workflow. It's designed for developers, with features like syntax highlighting, code completion, and AI assistance that make database work faster and more intuitive.

Do you offer a free trial?

Yes! All plans come with a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. You can try all features before deciding which plan is right for you.

What's the difference between subscription, perpetual, and lifetime licenses?

Subscription: Get continuous updates, new features, and support for as long as you subscribe. Cancel anytime. After 12 consecutive months of payments, you earn permanent access to the last version released during your subscription.

Perpetual license: Pay once and receive 12 months of updates. After that, keep using the last version released during those 12 months forever, with no additional charges.

Lifetime license: Pay once and receive all future updates and features forever. This is the best value for long-term users who want to stay current without any time limits.

In all cases, online features like sharing will require an active subscription to continue working.

Can I switch plans later?

Absolutely. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. When upgrading, you'll be prorated for the remainder of your billing period.

How does the team plan work?

The team plan allows you to centrally manage seats for your entire team. You can add or remove members as needed, with a minimum of 10 users. Each team member gets all the Pro features plus the collaboration features exclusive to teams.

What database systems are supported?

DBCode supports a wide range of databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis, and more. The Pro and Team plans support all database types while the Core plan supports open source database systems.

Do I need GitHub Copilot for AI features?

Some AI features like schema-aware chat and Copilot tools require GitHub Copilot. Other advanced AI features like inline code completion and Model Context Protocol are included in the Pro and Team plans without additional cost.
